CHILDREN'S DIRECTOR

My name is Shelby and I am the Director of Children's Ministries. I am married to the love of my life, Justin, and have three wonderful "bonus children": Ethan (15), Dylan (12), and Bella (6). Teaching children has always been my passion and it brings me great joy to teach our youth God's love through His word. My love for teaching started at a young age, beginning with babysitting and teaching neighborhood children. I have cared for infants through twelve years old in a school setting, taught preschool for a couple of years, and was the curriculum specialist for a year and half, overseeing the implementation of curriculum for infants through kindergarten.

When the Lord called me to ministry I knew my whoile life had geared me up for this task. Now, not only do I get to teach manners, respect for one another, and how to be good friends... but I get to teach about the Lord; the God that loves each one of my students, how to show that Godly love to others, and other biblical truths on a level children can understand and use in their everyday lives. Proverbs 22:6 tells us to "start children off on the way they should go and even when they are old they will not turn from it." My goal here at Berea is to give my students a solid foundation built on our cornerstone, Jesus Christ, that will carry on with them for the rest of their lives.
