Who We Are
We are Bereans! In Acts 17, the Bereans are described as those who "received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true." (verse 11) Like those Bereans of old, we are a church family who value God's Word...the very words of God to His people! We place a high priority on the study of the Word, the preaching of the Word, and "hiding God's Word in our heart".
We are Believers! Paul emphasizes in Ephesians that "it is by grace you have been saved through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast". James, however, reminds us saving faith is visible, tangible, and lives itself out in our day-to-day lives. We are a family that lives what we believe as we interact with one another, and the world around us.
We are Growing...in the image of Christ. It is a slow, and sometimes painful process, but it is our goal to become more and more like Him. This happens as we reamain in Him, and allow Him to remove all in our life that is not like Him.
We are a loving family. We have many opportunities throughout the week to gather to study, pray, meet each others needs and to just "be together". We also want our family to grow as we reach our community for Christ. We hope you will come and join us one day, and see if you too would like to be a "Berean."
